Last night I started the task of cleaning out my Vintage/Antique books and sewing patterns. I made it through 1 shelf.

I am offering quite a few books and ORIGINAL patterns from the 1870s-1880s for sale. I am asking below what they sell for on ebay. I have them listed in my ETSY SHOP.

I am willing to give a 10% discount if you would like to skip etsy and just use paypal. Items are shipped within 48 hrs of receipt of payment.

Feel free to ask any questions!

Hello!
I am new to this community, so I'm not sure if this kind of post is frowned upon or not. There are some antique items I am wanting to buy from some people on craigslist and I was wondering if I could get anyone's input on how much I might be able to realistically haggle the price down to. I know very little about antique pricing, as I am very new to this. Please let me know if you could help out, and I'll send you the pictures/descriptions of the items.

Thank you~

Gorgeous Rugs [16 Apr 2012|01:04pm]

ellymeri
I am always picking up gorgeous rugs! I began my love with other textiles and have since grown to adore Persian Rugs/Carpets.

Unfortunately my house only has so much square footage for rugs so I've started selling some on etsy here: http://www.etsy.com/shop/EleanorMeriwether?section_id=8032241

Here are a few examples of the antique beauties that I have!

Doll Collection [28 Jan 2010|09:32am]

courtneydisney

I inherited these dolls from a friend who had a death in the family, but know nothing about them.  My google-fu has brought me to tons of different sites for doll museums, different types of dolls from Japan & other countries, but not these specific dolls.  From what she's told me, they're from her late husbands family (either his mother or grandmother), who traveled a lot.  They look like they could be from anywhere from the 1940's to the 1980's.  One is actually made from a hollowed out egg and thread spool!  There are about 50 dolls in the collection, here's a few:

Anyone know more info, or where I can find out more?  I'd really like to keep them, but if they're worth eleventy billion dollars, I don' think I can take care of them as well as they should be.

You can click on the pictures to see more dolls - it takes you to the entire set on Flickr.More & Different DollsCollapse )

Antique Heroin Jar [25 Sep 2009|10:20pm]

danneeness
During one of our thrifthorror adventures, my girlfriend and I stumbled on this: a jar marked "Heroin". We have no idea where or when it came from, or who made it, or really anything about it, but it is a thing of beauty in its bafflingness. It's on EBay with bidding starting at $5. Hope you find this as cool as we do!

Two more pics behind the cutCollapse )

Bidding starts at $5. Click here for the EBay auction!

Mystery object [06 Feb 2008|02:18pm]

fangaili
I was wondering if you fine people could help me identify an old object. We picked it up at an estate sale the other day.
PicturesCollapse )

It's a small pot, with three small legs. There is an engraving of a horse on the lid. Our best guesses were "fondue pot", but there are no signs of flames on the bottom. It might be an ornate ash tray, with a lid designed to keep the fumes inside. There are what appear to be a few burn marks inside. We googled quite a bit but could find nothing that looked quite like this.

Any ideas would be appreciated! Thanks!

Алкоголь / Alcohol [21 Jan 2008|03:52am]

retromuseum

As is generally known, men drink seriously.  A little bit of alcohol theme.  We would like
especially to draw your attention to the picture of the pair of Ukrainians in Yaroslavl’ with the
lovliest text on it’s back. Translation: “It was the 5th of Februry 1908. Having drunk a pound
of  …… with a sprat ( it happened during a hangover), Gritsko, very bad after the banquet
– I have hardly persuaded him,  and I went to Ivanitskiy  and imprinted our look on paper.”
